Bounty System

When a ship gets destroyed by another one, its owner (faction) may decide to put a bounty on the head of the offender. However pirate and unclaimed sectors are considered unsafe, and no bounty can be put on someone there. Value of the bounty varies according to the gravity of the infraction. If you destroy a ship with a bounty on its head, you will get the reward. One exception to this rule: factions you are at war with won't pay you anything. Diplomacy

Factions in Unending Galaxy have dynamic relationships determined in a similar way to Civilization games. There's a set of fixed parameters that determine how much they like each other initially, those mainly depends on their laws, values, aggressiveness and diplomatic skills. Additionally, there's another set of parameters, playing a larger role, that evolve during then game. For instance, if a faction would like to takeover a sector owned by another, their relation will deter…

====== Jumpdrive ======

Most ships in Unending Galaxy are fitted with a short range jumpdrive allowing you to quickly move from a location to another. The engine doesn't require fuel, but it however needs time to fully recharge. Jumping also takes roughly 10 seconds and during this process your ship won't be able to move. As such the jumpdrive is a traveling tool, not a magical way to escape from certain doom.

This panel allows you to see detailed about sector you have currently selected, it usually the one you're in, but if you use this panel with the galactic map, you can basically see information about any sector in the galaxy.

It provides information about the sun, planet and colony type if any. You can see how much manpower is granted when controlling this sector with how much money and ship parts this sector can produce per minute.

Sectors

Not all sectors in Unending Galaxy are the same. The map is made by clusters of sectors (solar systems) linked by lanes of (relatively) empty space. Sectors in a solar systems tend to be much more valuable from an economic standpoint as they can house more stations. However empty sectors in lanes between systems are interesting from a military perspective as they can be used as a choke-point against enemy fleets without too much risk of collateral damage.

Security Forces

Basic security in solar systems owned by the major factions is handled by police / patrol fighters and frigates. While they may seem low in numbers, attacking a police ship will automatically put a bounty on your head and will trigger a response from the nearest military base and ships if available.

Unending Galaxy features a large panel of ships and weapons to choose from. All weapons consume battery energy, even missiles as there is no ammunition system on purpose. In this universe, fighter class vessels are the real “ammunition”, they are weak, but cheap to replace, fast to produce, and in big numbers, they can overwhelm capital ships.

There are multiple alien factions living in the same universe as you, and, as empires, they are able to conquer territory and conduct diplomacy. The economy of each empire influences its military production and capacity. The game also has a procedural mission generator. Most missions are generated based on what’s actually goi…

Trading System

Unending Galaxy uses a relatively straightforward economic system. Factories produce wares out of basic resources that can be found in some sectors of the galaxy (solar energy near suns, various ores in asteroid belts). More advanced factories build finished goods (ship parts, station parts and trading goods) with those wares. Stations lacking resources will buy at a higher price tag than those with an overflow.

If you're playing as an empire, sooner or later you will have to deal with the military side of things. To understand how things work there's a few concepts to take into account first. In Unending Galaxy, factions (you included) need time and ship parts to produce their military ships. Additionally, the maximum amount of military ships you can support is capped by your available
